Flood and Water Damage

The coalition have promised a substantial fund towards investment in flood defences. The Guardian reported that £2.3bn will be allocated to various projects yet to be decided.

Insurance Claim Solutions are still being instructed on new flood claims where insurers have failed to give the policyholder reasonable assistance and neglected to fully examine damage caused the flood. Many loss adjusters and insurance companies have opted , in certain cases, to assume that the property is unaffected by flood water because the water did not actually enter the house.  A number of houses in Egham, Surrey had flood water sitting around them for 10 days entering under the floor void and then receding. Now that the heating systems in houses have fired, this causing floors to lift and mould to grow.
