With the water table remaining so high, it is important not to bow to insurer pressure to carry out a repair to your home. You may also feel like you want to get on with the repairs and get your life back. The potential to flood again is high and if repairs are carried out and you flood again this will be considered a second claim – adding to your flood risk assessment and premium increase. It is better to wait until the risk of flood subsides and take a pragmatic approach to a longer term repair.
